guildhall guildhall guildhall guildhall

The Guildhall, situated right in the city centre, with its imposing façade is a masterpiece of neo-classical decoration. With sumptuous plasterwork and gilding and three stunning chandeliers not to mention a large collection of royal portraits, the Banqueting Room in the Guildhall is one of the most impressive Georgian interiors in Bath.

The magnificent Banqueting Room hung with original Georgian paintings can accommodate up to 360 people theatre style for a conference or 200 for a dinner. Several smaller rooms are available within the building for breakout rooms, exhibitions or receptions.

The Guildhall’s Banqueting Room is a most splendid room seats 180 for a dinner dance or 360 for a concert or civil wedding. The 18th century chandeliers sparkle from every facet and original royal portraits adorn the walls. The room has often been frequented by royalty; most recently, The Queen had lunch here during her May 2002 Jubilee visit to Bath. If you would like to perform classical music, the acoustics are particularly favourable. If a band or disco is more your style, there is an excellent dance floor.

The Brunswick Room, on the ground floor directly opposite the main entrance, is often used for meetings, talks or drinks receptions and is also licensed for civil weddings.

The Aix-en-Provence Room is a delightfully decorated room, opulently hung with original oil paintings from the Victoria Art Gallery’s collection, a rich carpet underfoot, adjoins the Guildhall Banqueting Room. This is a perfect space for conference refreshments or registration.

The Kaposvar Room on the first floor boasts an enormous board table for meetings and is also convenient as a green room for concerts or as a break-out room during a conference. It can be equipped with all the facilities of a modern secretariat.

The Council Chamber with its fixed seating and public gallery is popular for filming period dramas and can be used as a debating chamber. Beyond it lies the grand marble staircase which has appeared in a number of period films.
